A Stylishly Hot Evening

Merchies,
So Friday night I experienced my first Ebony Fashion Fair Fashion Show appropriately named stylishly hot! Oranges, Reds and Purples dominated the catwalk. Couture was the theme for the night and each outfit was as dramatic as the next. I saw pieces from Christian Lacroix, Chloe, Lanvin and Vivienne Westwood to name a few. However, the highlight of the night was the Couture from Missoni. That infamous pattern the Italian Fashion House is known for could be found on the women’s knit and silk dresses and pants as well as the male model’s knit belted cardigans. Carolina Herrera’s signature evening gowns added a touch of elegance to an otherwise sexy, sassy fashion show.
Although this was not my first fashion show, ( I was fortunate enough to see a few shows at Bryant Park during Fall Fashion week in 2001), I was pleased to see a show that was comprised of African American models as well as women with curves. The women were beautiful and the men were hilariously entertaining (and a great source of eye candy). The music alone turned the runway into a party! Instead of stiff, lifeless soldiers, the models had flair and an attitude that seemed to say “I’m hot” every step of the way. It was definitely entertaining and I recommend it to anyone who has not experienced a fashion show. Go see one, Ebony style!

Ciao for now,
