I heart Target

By now you all know that Target has

gone international
with some of the fashion world’s most talented designers giving us wishful shoppers, whose eyes are bigger than the contents of their wallets, a break (now you don’t have to weigh the benefits of paying for rent as opposed to buying that must have dress!) for a limited time. I was excited to learn, after seeing the new Target commercial (best commericials on my tele I might add), that Behnaz Sarafpour’s designs have made their fashion arrivial! For all you Fashion Forecasting students who practically performed surgery on the Collections, her name should ring a bell!… If not you know what i’m gonna tell you to do….. visit Target’s go international website at http://www.target.com/gp/browse.html/ref=nav_t_spc_1_11/601-0828646-0008124?ie=UTF8&node=16275561 or http://www.style.com/fashionshows/ to get a taste of what Sarafpour has to offer!

Question: What does inclusion of a designer's work in a mainstream shop like Target mean for the designer's reputation? Meaning, in the fashion world is it better to accept wide distribution and publicity or stay more underground? Also, what does it signify in terms of trends? Does it mean that next year's designs will look similar or differ from these designs?
