Its the most dreaded season again, the time of the year when we go shopping for skimsuits and see every single fault on our bodies. I have been praying for weeks that Vogue would run a story on full coverage 1920s style suits coming back. My prayers ,however, have failed me and I must face the reality that it is now time to make the painful shopping trip. I have however prepared for this challenge and will share my tips with you on how to make the swimsuit buying experience a little easier.
1. Crunches- If you are like me excercising is not one of your better skills. My idea of a workout is trying to make it through the Galleria Mall before I have to get to work. I buy the exercise videos but I do them once and then they sit on the shelf until they are old enough to be given to the Salvation Army. These last two weeks however I have forced myself to do 20 crunches everyday. I use one of those balance balls so 20 is harder then it sounds. The results aren’t major but I do look a little more toned and for 10 minutes of work a day I cant complain.Exercise ball available at Target $11.88
2 Get a Tan - Okay so I might be offending some of you who practice the ‘pastey is beautiful’ mantra, well I apologize. I myself am part of the pale skinned group and I love it during the fall and winter with my peach blush and rich colored clothing making me appear elegant and sophisticated. The summer however is a different story and when I go to try on swimsuits under the flouresent lighting my legs blend in with the white walls . That is why every spring before the skirts come out I invest in a nice bottle of self tanner. Now I am not telling anyone to go out and get fried like Donnatella Versace but a little Jergens Natural Glow ( about $6.00) will make you look healthier and also have a slimming effect .
3 An Awesome Swimsuit - If all else fails go out and buy a swimsuit so cute that it will distract you from any of the flaws your body may have. The one pictured below is form Victoria’s Secret and at $49.00 dollars you cant beat it.
