I recently had to write a paper comparing a product in a low end retail store and a high end retail store. I chose dress slacks from Target (their Mossimo brand) and Banana Republic. I basically compared price, country of origin, fabric, findings, display, sizes available, and quality for each pair of slacks. I wanted to see what pants were really worth how much they were priced at. The Target pants were $22.99 and the Banana Republic pants were $98.00, so has you can see there is a big price jump between them. The pants from target had alot of available sizes and a wide range from 0-20. They were made of mostly polyester, with some rayon and a small amount of spandex. The contruction was decent and they fit well and looked nice. On the other hand the Banana Republic pants had sizes 0-12, so it was a small range. They were made of moslty wool, some lycra and a small amount of spandex; they also had a polyester lining. These pants fit very well and were consistent with the fit on both sides and throughout the whole pant. Overall, I decided that the pants from Banan Republic had a better construction, nice fabric and a better fit, however, I thought that the for the price they werent really worth it and that the Target pants would perform just as well and be a better option.
