On Tuesday December 4, 2007 on CBS the fabulous Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show for 2007 debuted. This year for the entertainment they had will.i.am

Spice Girls

and Seal preformed.
seal.jpg
The fabulous and beautiful models Adriana Lima, Alessandra Ambrosio, Heidi Klum, Miranda Kerr, Selita Ebanks, Izabel Goulart, Karolina Kurkova and Marisa Miller to name a few strutted down the sparkly runway in nothing more than a bra and panties. This year Victoria’s Secret Pink Collection allowed one very lucky winner strut her stuff down the runway. They went to several college campuses around the United States looking for contestants. She was a natural, and did a great job. The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show showcases many of their collections. The Victoria’s Secret Angels seem to amaze us each and every year. I guess we have to wait a whole year to see what they have next.

Teen Vogue Fashion University

http://www.teenvoguefashionuniversity.com/
This past October was the 2nd annual Teen Vogue Fashion University hosted in New York City. Fashion U was October 26-28 this year. I went last year and had the most amazing time of my life. I had the chance to attend this past year as well. Fashion U is a weekend event in New York City starting Friday night and ending early afternoon on Sunday. On Friday night this year they had a fashion show sponsored by Target’s Go International program featuring Erin Fetherston. Following the fashion show the band Locksley performed a great show.
img_locksley.jpg
The evening ends early because the next morning you have to stand in line at 8 a.m. at the Hudson Theater in Times Square in a very long line in the pouring rain. The last two years it was pouring rain but believe me it’s totally worth it. Once you finally get inside you check-in and they give you this amazing goody bag that I bet even some celebrities would be envious over. The goody bag has been a Dooney and Bourke bag filled to the top with all kinds of goodies. After you register then you wait until classes start at 10 a.m. this year I was privileged to see Erin Fetherston, Rogan Gregory CFDA 2007 winner and Scott Hahn

Tommy Hilfiger

Vera Wang

and Tim Gunn.
img_tim_gunn.jpg

They have many people to choose from but these are the ones I had selected and saw. Each person usually talks about their job and how they got there and what’s currently going on with their job and they usually offer great advice as well. After a long day but extremely fun day you had the option of shopping at Levi’s with a discount or attending the premiere of Seamless sponsored by Tiffany & Co. They had a mock tails and snacks as we took our picture on the red carpet and with some of the staff. Then we got to see the documentary Seamless. On Sunday they give you a gift card to Bloomingdales which is only good for that day and everyone goes shopping to end the great weekend.

The Five Evening Makeup Essentials:

1. Berry Stain
• Use this to brighten your cheeks or deepen your lip color. “I love the look of rosy ice-skaters’ cheeks with just a hint of mascara- it’s so pretty and easy,” says New York makeup artist Wei Lang.

2. Black Violet Eyeliner
• “Deep, deep purple is much more skin-flattering than pure black, but it defines your eyes just as dramatically,” says Los Angeles makeup artist Amy Holiber. Mascara in the same shade looks fantastic with it.

3. White Shimmer
• “A touch of this is pretty much instant glamour. The great thing is that you can play it so many ways- as a wash over lids, tapped onto the cheekbones, or dotted in the inner corners or the eyes,” says Giorgio Armani makeup guru Tim Quinn.

4. Bronzer
• “When in doubt, go with a sun-kissed glow.” Say Wei Lang. “Bronzer works best in small doses, so apply just a little and blend until it’s perfectly sheer and gorgeous, this gives a feel or low-key but really sexy look.”

5. Gray Eye Shadow
• This smoky eye is subtle and pretty. “Gray flatters most eye colors,” says Tim Quinn. “For a sophisticated feel, use it to rim the entire eye-or, for more drama, layer it over lighter shadow and smudge it up to the crease.” For the ideal balance, throw on lots of mascara, some pale lip gloss, and little or no blush.

Girl Meets Boy:

Some of the chicest statements of the year were made by glamour girls who embody just a hint of tomboy grit and stride into parties and runway shows in menswear-inspired ensembles. Turn a simple white tie-neck blouse and black trousers into a flawless look with a jeweled belt and black platform sandals. Balance the masculine pieces with feminine accents like a bold necklace and a mini mine and of course high feels.

The Rules of The Season:

1. Go for HOT Shades of Purple and Pink• Add personality day or night with clothes in eye-popping colors. Even a brightly shaded clutch will get you noticed.

Breyes- Spring 2008 Ready-to-wear

2. Add a Touch of Fur• For extra dimension in your ensemble, work in fur trim on anything from a chic shift to a luxurious winter coat.

3. Grab a Doctor’s Bag• A structured tote bag with separate compartments is a practical alternative to fall’s soft clutches.

4. Go Mad For Plaid• Plaid has returned on miniskirts, bomber jackets, and funky satchels.

Luella- Spring 2008 Ready-to-wear

5. Try Long Leather Gloves• Bring back opera-length gloves and pair them with shorter-sleeved jackets and coats.

6. Choose Camel• Caramel hues are turning up on sweaters, outerwear, and accessories. They go with everything from brights to neutrals.

7. Let Leopard Rule
• Animal prints aren’t going anywhere, but limit these busy patterns to a strong piece like a glamorous bell-sleeved topper.

L.A.M.B- Spring 2008 Ready-to-wear

8. Winterize Your Sandals• Don’t put your strappy heels away when the temperature drops, wear them with opaque or sheer tights.

9. Pick Cobalt and Grape• Blue and vibrant violets are still around for spring designers presented head-to-toe looks and sexy belted sheaths in the bold hues.

Wearing matching cuffs on each wrist is a great way to make a strong statement with jewelry and manage to look streamlined and minimal at the same time. Styles in black leather, brushed metal or wood give a bold statement with any outfit.

Best Styles From 2007

Primary Colors:

This year was full of rainbow brights. Style setters worked the room and the photographers in dresses in bold blues, steamy reds, and fiery yellows. Whether their dresses swept across the floor or grazed the knee, Hollywood’s heaviest hitters showed their true colors.

Black & White:

The more minimal but still classy looks choose black, white, or a combination of the two for their nights on the town. The striking contrast evoked elegance, richness, and instant chic.

A Man’s Watch for a Woman:

When coming up with gift ideas for this Holiday, tell them you want a watch…but not just any watch, you want a big men’s watch. If you haven’t been noticing women have been wearing them lately- this is because they make our wrists look slimmer then they already are. With a gift like this you will feel strong and feminine at the same time.

Figure-Flattering Party Tops:

Short Neck- Boatnecks are the ideal solution: The extra-wide-through-the-shoulders shape will make your neck appear longer by comparison.

Charlotte Russe

Big Bust- A Grecian-style V-neck plays up cleavage without revealing too much, and the softly draped fabric and Empire waist keep you from seeming top-heavy.

Charlotte Russe

Broad Shoulders- A square neckline draws the eye in and down, brilliantly creating the illusion of a narrower, proportionate build.

Quick & Easy Styling Tips:

1. Don’t be afraid to stand out in bright shades of orange, purple, and red. A satiny shift has just the right amount of shine for a holiday party. Keep the rest of your look simple with a natural hair style and muted makeup.

2. It’s all about adding glamour with precious extras. An embellished detail or a large metallic clutch is an elegant option.

3. Look for a little white dress that works for winter. Experiment with heavier fabrics in halter-neck or racer-back style.

4. A metallic outfit will make you the hit of the party weather it be a fringed mini or a more conservative but still sexy knit sheath. A black belt or cardigan can help tone it down if you need to go from the office straight to a party.

5. Boost your bling with a chunky gold necklace or another colorful accessory that adds texture to your look. Nothing says holiday like festive jewelry.
