Product Red is a brand started by Bono from U2 and Bobby Shriver of Debt AIDS Trade of Africa to raise money for the Global Fund to Fight AIDS. Many companies, such as The Gap, Apple, Converse, Hallmark, have been creating products with the Product Red logo. This brand can help increase the sales of these stores. When people know that purchasing these products will help donate money to a good cause, then they will be persuaded to do so. Then, a percentage of the profits goes to the Global Fund. Also, celebrities from Wyclef Jean to Anne Hathaway endorse these products. Therefore, more people will be wanting to buy these items since celebrity endoresments play a big role in promoting and advertising.

The striped long sleeved top and dress above are also Product Red items even though they’re not the standard red t-shirts. I didn’t even know there were other Product Red clothes until I saw them on The Gap website! I thought that was a really good idea to have other options than the basic red shirt!

There are also other choices of words that are on the shirts besides the Inspi(red). I remember the first time i saw someone wear the Bo(red) t-shirt and I thought that was quite clever and humorous! If people didn’t know what the Product Red logo was and saw that shirt, they’d probably ask about because it catches their eye. Then, maybe they’ll be inclined to purchase those products!
