Celebrity Clothing Line

There is a new trend that is happening right now in retail stores. Celebrities are creating their own line of clothing that will sell in low price point stores. Avril Lavigne will have a line at Kohl’s. Vera Wang has a line at Kohl’s, as well. Madonna has a line at H&M. Sarah Jessica Parker has a clothing line at Steve & Barry’s. Heidi Montag has a line at Anchor Blue. Ashlee Simpson created a line of t-shirts at WetSeal.

I think it is a good strategy for these well-known celebrities to sell their clothing lines at these types of stores because these retail stores sell to the masses. Therefore, these clothes can be available to everyone regardless of their income. Also, fans of these celebrities will most likely buy their clothes. Therefore, the stores can attreact new customers and sales will increase.

I Have never bought anything from Steve & Barry’s before, I’ve seen Sarah Jessica Parker’s clothing line on the website, and I really liked it! Also, the price for everything is $8.98! Great fashionable clothes at a low price is always a good deal! So now, I’m thinking about buying something at Steve & Barry’s. As a result, they just gained a new customer!

If these celebrity clothing lines sell well, then I’m sure more and more celebrities will start creating their own clothing line, too.

Well, this kind of trend is not just happening on Hollywood stars or restricted on clothes only. For example, Korean pop princess BoA also has her own jewelry line called “Ramee by BoA”.

Korean born singer, Rain also following the steps of Hollywood stars by launching his own clothing line, "Six to Five".

The increasing popularity of Korean culture because of the Korean "Hallyu" wave enable more talented Korean clothing designer and Korean celebrities working together to increase the awareness of people around the fashion world on their Korean designers' profile.
