Ugly Betty Thursday 8p.m. on ABC
I have to agree with Julie on the subject of that fowl word UGLY. It can be very hurtful and damaging to one’s self confidence. That is perhaps why I had reservations about watching the new ABC hit show Ugly Betty. For all those familiar with the actress who plays the lead character, America Ferrera, we know that she is a very pretty woman with or without her costume. Betty is the outrageously talented Executive Assistant at a mock fashion magazine office, who gets in way over her head at times, but always triumphs in the end, despite her co-workers evil attempts to sabatoge her daily assignments. Betty’s positivity, warmth and ability to turn the other cheek is infectious (If this is who Ugly Betty is, wouldn’t you like to be her?). It’s a great show for anyone who knows the competitive nature (also known as cattiness) of the fashion journalism world or for all us fashion obsessed chicas (and chicos) who need a break from our crazed nine to fives what ever they may be. So Watch! Watch! Watch!

By now you all know that Target has

gone international

with some of the fashion world’s most talented designers giving us wishful shoppers, whose eyes are bigger than the contents of their wallets, a break (now you don’t have to weigh the benefits of paying for rent as opposed to buying that must have dress!) for a limited time. I was excited to learn, after seeing the new Target commercial (best commericials on my tele I might add), that Behnaz Sarafpour’s designs have made their fashion arrivial!
