Last Saturday September 29, 2007 was the Knox farm fiber festival. This was my first ever fiber festival and I was very curious to see what it was all about. They had demos, vendors, animals, and a hay ride. The festival had many different kinds of demos such as Iron work, spinning wool, weaving, dyeing and many more. The weavers would spin and then weave shawls from fleece which had come from one of the farms very own sheep. One vendor had silk worms and showed the complete process of making silk from silk worms. She had every stage with here from the eggs to the worms which she let you touch to the actual silk. A couple of vendors were knitting and had different types of yarn. Another neat aspect was all the animals at the Knox farm they had, sheep, llamas, goats, and alpacas oh my! The Knox farm also had a hay ride that took you around the farm with a tour guide which was very interesting. I had a great time visiting all the different vendors to see what they had to offer. I encourage people to go next year and see all the great things that the Knox Farm Fiber Festival has to offer.
